Dear Ma:

We left Constantinople the 10th and arrived at Alexandria the 13th. I sent you a paper from that place. There are regularly detachments being sent from the ship here to Cairo, at remarkably cheap rates. a trip to the Pyramids, Sphinx, and around the city, including railway fare, room and board, only amounts to $11.00. The climate here is the best I have ever seen. It is certainly a relief from Constantinople.

With love,
John
